Gently rinse the tooth with water and rinse your mouth with warm water. If possible, place the tooth back in its socket and hold it in place with gauze or a clean cloth. If you can’t reinsert it, store the tooth in a cup of milk to preserve the root's moisture, or keep it in your mouth between your cheek and tongue.
